Tanzania Bans Wearing of Mini-skirts in an Effort to Curb HIV/AIDS

In a bid to curb the alarming spread of HIV/AIDS in his country, the president of Tanzania has enacted a law which is considered quite surprising move.

Tanzanian president John Magufuli has reportedly banned miniskirts.

Following his sweeping victory last October, Magufuli has become an international hero due to cost-cutting measures that he introduced across the country.

Magufuli surprised the public once again, by banning miniskirts across the country saying he believes the garments, along with short dresses, encourage the spread of HIV/Aids.

The move comes just a few months after the country banned "twerking".

Magufuli seems to have followed in much the same vein, announcing that mini skirts and short dresses encourage the spread of HIV/Aids.

Tanzanian women have since been given three weeks to rid their wardrobes of the "offending" garments.
