Okonjo Should Be Behind Bars, Oshiomhole Tells Buhari

The governor of Edo state has insisted that former Finance minster, Okonjo-Iweala is privy to the intrigues of the arms deal scandal and must be prosecuted.

Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole has called on the Presidency to arrest and prosecute former minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, over her alleged role in the $2billion arms deal.

Daily Post reports that the governor also advised the Federal Government to punish anyone who was involved in the arms deal purchase under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The governor insisted that there was no way Okonjo-Iweala was not in the know as the Coordinating Minister for the Economy under Jonathan.

Oshiomhole, who met behind closed-doors with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Wednesday told State House correspondents on his way out that the government could not afford to be selective in the probe because, in criminal law, all those involved must be charged for conspiracy.

The Edo governor insisted that Okonjo-Iweala, could not coordinate a corrupt-ridden economy and pretend to be an angel.
