The government of Bauchi state has released shocking facts and data how the former governor of the state, Malam Isa Yagudu squandered N91bn taxpayers' he allocated to himself as security vote.


The Bauchi State Government has revealed a shocking detail how the immediate past Governor of the state, Malam Isa Yuguda languished taxpayers' money to the tune of N91bn as security vote he allocated to himself in eight years, reports Vanguard.
The extravagant and wasteful use of the people's money was made public in a statement on Tuesday by the Special Assistant to the Bauchi State Governor on Media and Communication, Yakubu Mohammed.

According to Mohammed, the state government now has more facts to the shocking deals and all the expenditures spent by the wasteful administration of Yuguda as it accused the former governor of financial recklessness and lack of accountability in the management of the people's resources.

Mohammed revealed that between 2007 and 2015, N91 billion was released as security vote, with the highest being over N17 billion in 2013 which was a stab in the back of the people by the former governor.

The statement said: “For 2007, over N1 billion, over N6 billion in 2008, 2009 gulped over N8 billion. N10 billion was spent in 2010 while over N14 billion was released for the year 2011.

”Other releases of over N11 billion, N16 billion and N4 billion were for 2012, 2014, 2015 respectively.”


The statement also said the facts were released and certified by the state’s Accountant General, Abubakar Gabi. What Further actions to be taken against this impunity is yet to be seen.
