Suspected members of Boko Haram have struck in the North-East area of Nigeria with deaths recorded with others injured.
At least 9 people were killed today by a suicide bombing in Maiduguri,
the Borno State capital, according to a local resident and Emergency
Management Agency official.
The suicide attack occurred near the Muna garage area of Maiduguri.
Baba Kura, a resident of Muna garage, told a SaharaReporters
correspondent that at least nine people feared dead in the attack.
''We heard loud explosions in our area and we quickly went to the
scene and we found nine people dead and a vehicle seriously damaged,'' he said.
A State Emergency Management Agency official revealed on the condition
of anonymity that 6 people were recovered from the scene along Dikwa
road with authorities still sorting out the situation.
