Pastor Whose Wife Was Killed Cries Out, Says 'I Don't Feel Like Forgiving Her Killers'

Pastor Davey Blackburn, the husband of Amanda Blackburn, a woman who was recently murdered, has spoken about his wife’s brutal murder as two men charged with her killing made their first court appearance.

The pastor who spoke with Inside Edition, said: “I don’t feel like forgiving. I feel like being angry, but that doesn’t lead to anything down the road,”
Pastor Blackburn's wife was shot to death in their Indianapolis home. She was 13 weeks pregnant.

The suspected killers who were identified as Larry Jo Taylor, 18, and Jalen Watson, 21, have pleaded not guilty to the alleged home invasion attack.

According to newly released police documents, Taylor told investigators he shot Amanda when she charged at him. Then he leaned over her and shot her in the back of the head.

Blackburn and his grieving father-in-law, Phil Byars, said they haven’t taken in all of the horrific details.

The Widower said: “We’re trying to take it a day at a time and we know we’re going to have to get a little into those weeds in order to rise above them,”

“But I just feel like if we took it all at once, it would crush us.”

Amanda’s father, Phil Byars, said he remains focused on the good things about his daughter.

He said: “I’m proud to be her dad. I’m proud of what she turned into. I’m proud of the woman that she was and the mother that she was.

“And that’s all I have to say.”
